About Liverpool
BHA’s Sexual Health Services in Liverpool aims to improve knowledge, skills, confidence, and uptake of sexual health prevention tools. BHA develops services by engaging and involving communities who experience inequalities, predominantly Black, Asian, and minority ethnic communities, and those who are marginalised or disadvantaged.
The sexual health service is part of the PaSH Partnership, a collaboration between BHA for Equality, George House Trust, and the LGBT Foundation. The PaSH Partnership delivers a comprehensive programme of interventions to meet the changing needs of people newly diagnosed with HIV, living longer term with HIV, or at greatest risk of acquiring HIV.
In addition to its core objectives, BHA also focuses on fostering a supportive wider environment where individuals feel safe and empowered to discuss their sexual health concerns. This involves not only providing direct access to testing and resources but also facilitating workshops, educational sessions, and community outreach programmes that address stigma and promote open dialogue about sexual health issues. By prioritizing culturally sensitive approaches and tailoring interventions to the specific needs of the diverse communities of Liverpool, BHA works to enhance overall well-being and health literacy. Furthermore, the organisation actively collaborates with local charities and health professionals to ensure that the services offered are not only effective but also accessible, thereby contributing to a more equitable healthcare landscape for all individuals in Liverpool.
