PrEP

What is PrEP?

What is PrEP?

PrEP, or pre-exposure prophylaxis, is a medication that can significantly reduce the risk of contracting HIV. It is available for free through the NHS, making it accessible to those who need it most.

Who Can Use PrEP?

PrEP is designed for anyone who is HIV-negative and wants to protect themselves from HIV, even if they are not using condoms. It is taken as a daily tablet, making it a convenient option for many individuals.

How Does PrEP Work?

When taken consistently and correctly, PrEP works by preventing HIV from entering your cells and replicating within your body. This means that even if you are exposed to the virus, PrEP can help keep you HIV-negative.
